It definitely looks familiar, though.Merissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11035700550348629197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1033289293807518844.post-67823796434431111242011-10-21T15:50:44.457-05:002011-10-21T15:50:44.457-05:00The Sears at Cloverleaf did not "move" t...The Sears at Cloverleaf did not "move" to Chesterfield Towne Center in 2002.
The Towne Center store opened in the early 1990s, and the two stores co-existed until January 2003, when the Cloverleaf store closed.finkfunknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1033289293807518844.post-88735498784410346802008-04-01T17:59:00.000-05:002008-04-01T17:59:00.000-05:00Steven - Travesty is a very applicable description...Steven - Travesty is a very applicable description. The Cloverleaf fountain is one of the most stunning I've seen, period. That includes much larger and better known malls.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07788722183424550052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1033289293807518844.post-44442622027266644242008-04-01T00:51:00.000-05:002008-04-01T00:51:00.000-05:00I've never seen a mall structured exactly like Tow...I've never seen a mall structured exactly like Town East Mall. There have been some big center courts, especially from that era, to be sure, but that one's positively odd.

The Cloverleaf Mall center court is far more conventional, but it's equally as stunning. I mentioned on Labelscar that there were some great pictures of Cloverleaf from the old days floating around, and sure enough, you found one! Hard to belive what they did to that place in the late '80s. It's a travesty.Livemallshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01567198484359363455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1033289293807518844.post-18082615358791336532008-03-30T22:02:00.000-05:002008-03-30T22:02:00.000-05:00I did it for you, Didi. :)And I totally agree on t...I did it for you, Didi. :)
And I totally agree on the photos.

DerekL - Good question. They tried to stick a lot of (quasi-related at best)things under their roof in the 70's and 80's while their core business stagnated.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07788722183424550052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1033289293807518844.post-71961060380750284962008-03-30T10:13:00.000-05:002008-03-30T10:13:00.000-05:00One wonders what Sears would have been like today ...One wonders what Sears would have been like today if they had managed their subsidiaries in any other fashion than "stuff we can stick inside a Sears store".DerekLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10901229675436228122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1033289293807518844.post-47341026577852294862008-03-29T23:08:00.000-05:002008-03-29T23:08:00.000-05:00LOL, Dave, nice to see you changed your mind. :o) ...LOL, Dave, nice to see you changed your mind. :o) I love these photos.
